Color me happy!

I really don't know what to say about this room except that it is fantastic! Those vintage armchairs upholstered in the most glorious shades of velvet simply pop against the damask wallpaper.

My favorite print has finally made it to the tiling industry. Ikat is now available in mosaic tiles. How divine does that look!? Available at New Revenna Mosaics.

Wow, what an impact that valance has on this kitchen!

These antique French Bergere chairs are such a lovely contrast of classic and modern.

Summer Weddings.

I am very partial to summer weddings. Flowers are in full bloom, there is a sense of freedom in the air, and sunshine is in abundance. What's not to love?

Summer camp + Wedding = Cuteness!

Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best ideas. I love the laid back vibe that this 'picnic' wedding evokes.

Love those casual floral bridesmaid dresses.

Picnic baskets filled with bouquets line the ailse and of course guests are seated on blankets.

White Hot!

If you thought white was boring, think again! These rooms showcase that a palette of white can be interesting, beautiful and anything but dull! The key to working with white is layering various shades to give the room interest and depth. Another way to assure that the room isn't bland is to add lots of different textures. Blankets, throws, pillows, and rugs in varying textures will make the room feel finished.

Each of these rooms look fresh, crisp, and so clean! I love that about white. It can really open up and refresh a space like no other color.

My favorite accessory.

As far as home accessories go, I definitely have a favorite that stands out among the rest: THROW PILLOWS. They are perfect for adding color, texture, and pattern to a bland space. Also, they are affordable and can be easily replaced as trends go in and out of style. So if you're debating on buying that bright yellow floral print sofa (for example), a throw pillow might be a good compromise. At the moment I'm particularly fond of tribal and chevron prints for accent pillows.

Notice this room is mostly white however it feels really colorful thanks to the various throw pillows on the sofa. They make such an impact!

Don't be afraid to mix and match patterns and colors! There are no rules to using throw pillows. Have fun with it!

Throw pillows are a great way to bring your unique personality into your home!

Dreaming of Kitchens...

A really great friend of mine is aspiring to spruce up her kitchen and asked that I help her with the painting process. She would like to paint her oak cabinets for a more updated look, add new hardware, and also paint the walls. Her dream colors are turquoise, pink, and gray. It makes me so happy that she isn't afraid of color! Yay! Of course, I hit the internet for sources of color inspiration...

What a statement that turquoise tile makes! Wow! The slate gray counter tops paired with the pristine white cabinets makes for a chic combination! The touch of pink added by the vase of fresh peonies is perfect.

These gray cabinets are divine! So sleek and classy....

This is my favorite combination of all. The white cabinets are gorgeous paired with the gray tile and light turquoise blue walls. This shows that color can be added in a refined, elegant way without being overpowering.

This casual, colorful kitchen is exceptional. The cabinets are the perfect shade of turquoise and the black counter tops sing against them! The farmhouse sink and wainscoting add the perfect touch of country to this stylish kitchen.

This kitchen is daring, unconventional, and in my opinion fantastic. How happy I would be to wake up and grab a cup of coffee and cereal in such a cheery kitchen! The cabinets and walls have been painted a bright shade of turquoise which is so unexpected in a kitchen. The Moroccan lantern hanging over the island adds so much interest to the room.

This is such a unique and beautiful kitchen! I'm a sucker for all things glitzy, shiny, and silver so this backsplash really speaks to me. The white cabinets with the stainless steel hardware creates a modern, streamlined, and clean feel to the space. Who would ever think to paint your kitchen ceiling turquoise? It works perfectly for this space!

If you have your heart set on adding an unconventional color to your kitchen or bathroom and aren't in your "forever" home a great way to incorporate the color is by adding hardware. Beautiful hardware makes a statement in any room and can be easily switched out by sellers or buyers when a house is put up for sale.

Wouldn't these be adorable to hang aprons, dish towels, or oven mitts? I think so!

All hardware is from Anthropologie.
